PETALING JAYA, Sep 7 — Selangor defender Jefferson Tabinas struck in injury time to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over Melaka FC in their 2026/2027 Super League match at Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium last night.

The victory kept Selangor third in the Super League, behind second-placed Kuching City FC, with both teams on nine points and separated only by goal difference.

Selangor's aggressive start was rewarded when Chrigor Moraes opened the scoring in the 11th minute.

Despite the home side pushing to double their advantage, the first half ended 1-0.

Melaka went on the offensive at the start of the second half in search of an equaliser, but Moraes instead doubled Selangor's lead with his second goal in the 51st minute.

The setback appeared to spur Melaka into action as they fought back with two goals, through Syahir Abdul Rashid in the 59th minute and Dong-Hyeon Do in the 75th, to draw level at 2-2.

However, Tabinas had the final say, scoring Selangor's third goal in injury time to seal all three points and spark celebrations among the home crowd.
