KAJANG, Sept 5 — Residents of Taman Bukit Belimbing have urged the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) to fix persistent potholes in the area, with two major hazards on primary access road Jalan Bukit Belimbing.
Resident Vincent Raj said he raised the issue earlier this year to MPKj councillor Tan Kah Hoe, according to a report by The Star.
“MPKj resurfaced the road early this year, and the potholes appeared not long after.
“In April, Tan said he had forwarded the issue to Air Selangor to check if the potholes were caused by pipe leaks,” Vincent said.
He added that he has witnessed motorcyclists swerving dangerously to avoid the potholes.
When contacted, Tan explained that the road was backfilled by an MPKj contractor in early March after the potholes appeared.
“MPKj will monitor the road to see if there is any sinking, before it orders the contractor to permanently patch the road surface.
“The current potholes highlighted are more likely the road’s premix layer peeling off,” Tan said.
He added that the contractor would finish permanent repairs by the end of September, saying MPKj allocated RM350,000 for the resurfacing project in February, covering a 1.4km stretch from the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK) exit to Taman Bukit Belimbing Mosque.
