SERI KEMBANGAN, Aug 22 — State athlete Preteish Anbucelvan won gold in the men’s individual silambam event at the Selangor Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026 today.
In the competition at Stadium MBSJ in Serdang Jaya, he scored 11.400 points, the highest score, to finish first.
The achievement contributed another gold medal to Selangor’s tally, further adding to the host contingent’s medal haul.
Meanwhile, Preteish's fellow athlete Sasmita A. Ravi also added a gold medal to the tally in the women’s individual silambam thanithiramai kuthu varisai event, scoring 10.9 points to finish first.
Throughout the performance, she stayed focused and precise in every movement, displaying sharp, neat, controlled technique to maintain a consistent routine.
