SHAH ALAM, Aug 21 — With three days remaining in the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026, Selangor has collected 60 gold, 51 silver, and 43 bronze medals as of 10.30pm today.

The impressive performance has strengthened the hosts' position at the top of the medal standings. Terengganu is second with 34 gold, 32 silver, and 27 bronze, followed by the Federal Territories with 31 gold, 32 silver, and 30 bronze.

In today's action, home diver Muhammad Haris Mohd Rezal ended his final SUKMA appearance by winning gold in the men's 1m springboard event. The 21-year-old stunned two national divers representing the Federal Territories, Nurqayyum Nazmi Mohamad Nazim and Yong Rui Jie.

Akuatik Selangor continued to prove a rich source of medals for the hosts. As of tonight, the state contingent has collected 24 medals from aquatic sports. Gold came from the men's and women's 200m butterfly, women's 800m freestyle, women's 4x100m freestyle and men's 1m springboard.

State swimmer Shannon Tan Yan-Qing also continued to make waves, breaking the SUKMA record in the women's 200m butterfly. The 16-year-old subsequently helped Selangor break the SUKMA record in the women's 4x100m freestyle.

Muhammad Haris ends SUKMA career with gold

Haris completed his medal haul at SUKMA 2026 by winning the men's 1m springboard title at the Selangor Aquatic Centre today.

He accumulated 353.80 points from six dives to finish ahead of Federal Territories diver Nurqayyum Nazmi Mohamad Nazim, who scored 347.70 points for silver.

New SUKMA records in women's 200m butterfly and 4x100m freestyle

Shannon Tan continued her sensational run by winning two gold medals and breaking two SUKMA records today.

She first won the women's 200m butterfly in 2 minutes 15.13 seconds, breaking the SUKMA record of 2:15.77 that she herself had set in the morning heats.

The 16-year-old then helped the Selangor quartet win the women's 4x100m freestyle in 3:54.54, also erasing the previous championship record of 3:54.84.

Goh Li Hen wins butterfly gold

Akuatik Selangor once again witnessed the state contingent's swimmers adding to gold medal tally.

This time, Goh Li Hen won gold in the men's 200m butterfly, while Selangor also claimed bronze through Goh Li Jie.

Yuan Yi wins gold, Hermann adds bronze

The state contingent continued to collect medals in swimming, winning one gold and one bronze in the women's 800m freestyle.

Chong Yuan Yi secured gold in the event, while Hermann Tang Bok Yu contributed a bronze in the men's 1,500m freestyle.

Selangor claim men's team squash gold

The state athletes lived up to expectations by winning the men's team squash gold after defeating Kedah 2-0 at Kompleks Sukan Astaka MBPJ.

Selangor opened the contest through G. Keshvan, who defeated Kedah's Sim Yeak Wei 3-1 in the first match.

The Selangor team emerged champions after recording a total of 3,018 pins at Sunway Mega Lanes in Sunway Pyramid, Subang Jaya.

BMX: Selangor claim four medals

Selangor dominated the BMX competition by collecting four medals in the men's and women's park events at Arena Skatepark MBPJ in Petaling Jaya.

Siblings Nia Nur Aidryana Mohd Nor Aszeril and Nur Airen Sofea Mohd Nor Aszeril led the charge by finishing first and second, respectively, in the women's park event.

In the men's BMX park, Muhammad Khaidir Idzham Abdul Haqq won gold with 92.33 points, while Ziyad Razzidin Mohd Zainurdin took silver with 91.55 points.

Men's five-player bowling team wins bronze

Selangor claimed bronze in the men's five-player tenpin bowling event after recording 5,890 pins at Sunway Mega Lanes.

Sarawak won gold with 6,092 pins, while Johor took silver with 5,917.

Haretashni wins bronze, karate's first medal

State karate athlete N. Haretashni bounced back from her semi-final disappointment to win bronze in the women's individual kumite 50kg event.

Competing at the IDEAL Convention Centre (IDCC), she defeated her opponent 3-0 in the bronze-medal bout.

Haretashni, who had initially targeted gold, admitted she was disappointed after losing to a tough opponent in the semi-finals.

Yu Zhe wins Selangor's first wushu medal

Wushu delivered Selangor's first medal in the sport at SUKMA 2026 when 15-year-old Tan Yu Zhe won bronze in the Nandao + Nangun discipline at the IDCC.

Making his SUKMA debut, Tan scored 9.545 points overall, including 9.523 in Nangun and 9.566 in Nandao, finishing ahead of the Sarawak representative in fourth place.

Haris-Ikmal pair win bronze in 3m diving

Haris and Ikmal Abror Ibrahim added another bronze medal to Selangor's tally in the men's 3m springboard synchronised event.

Competing together in the 3m springboard event, they delivered a strong performance across six dives, but it was not enough to challenge the Sarawak pair who won gold, while the Federal Territory took home the silver.

At Akuatik Selangor, Haris and Ikmal amassed 307.89 points after six dives, finishing 26.01 points behind the gold medalists.

Valuable SUKMA experience for 15-year-old Shuen Ru

Selangor wushu athlete Teh Shuen Ru gained valuable experience from her SUKMA debut as she continues to develop.

Competing at 15 in the Taijijian discipline, she finished 16th out of 19 competitors with 9.066 points at the IDCC.
