BANGI, Aug 15 — Selangor struck gold in the rhythmic gymnastics group exercise at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026 today, adding to the state’s medal haul.
The achievement was secured by the five-gymnast combination of Tang Sher Myn, Rache Chua Hui Xin, Lor Suen Nah, Ker Jia Wen and Gan Yi Xin, who delivered a neat and energetic performance to win the event.
Selangor rhythmic gymnastics coach Low Jun Mae said she was very satisfied with her athletes’ consistent performance throughout the competition.
She said the success reflected the gymnasts’ strong determination and commitment to ensuring the team’s target was achieved.
“I am proud of my athletes, who gave their best performance, and today we won the gold medal for Selangor,” she told Media Selangor at Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), here.
Earlier, the Selangor rhythmic gymnastics squad delivered a consistent performance across four routines involving the ball, hoop, clubs and ribbon to overcome the challenge from other contingents.
The victory further boosted Selangor’s momentum in its medal hunt at SUKMA 2026, which runs until August 24.
