
SHAH ALAM, Aug 19 — The Selangor contingent are well on their way to its 80-gold target, with their medal tally on SUKMA’s fifth day at 30 gold, 33 silver and 23 bronze, keeping the state at the top of the leaderboard.
Today, the state’s swimming camp took victory after victory at Selangor Aquatic here.
Selangor swimmers took over the SUKMA 400m individual relays, with three athletes contributing two gold and one bronze to the state’s medal haul at Selangor Aquatic here today.
Shannon Tan Yang-Qing emerged champion in the women’s 400m individual medley, having finished the race in an impressive 4:48.50s. Her teammate Yoong Jia Jia took bronze with a 5:10.13s finish.
In the men’s 400m individual medley, Goh Li Hen took gold with his 4:35.40s finish.

Selangor also swept gold, silver and bronze across two SUKMA men’s events.
Daniel Scott Williams powered his way to gold in just 26.81s in the 50m backstroke, while teammate Oswald Lim took bronze for the same event with a time of 27.21s.
Another teammate, Cayden Gooi, scored silver in the men’s 100m breaststroke, just 0.14s behind gold medallist Cham Yu Xiang’s (Federal Territories) 1:04.02s.

Eliza Tan Ai Shen brought home gold in the women’s 200m freestyle, needing just 2:5.26s to finish the race and emerge champion.
Meanwhile, teammate Goh Li Jie took bronze in the men’s 200m freestyle, clocking 1:52.67s to finish third.

At the same venue, diver Muhammad Haris Mohd Rezal won silver in the men’s 3m springboard after accumulating 387.45 points at Selangor Aquatic here today.
The 21-year-old was just 4.40 points behind gold medallist Yong Rui Jie from the Federal Territories.

The women’s football squad also saw gold when they beat Sabah 2-0 at MPS Stadium in Selayang tonight.
The final match was set afire by both teams’ aggressive attacks from the start, but Selangor managed to dominate the game and clinch victory.

Over in Petaling Jaya at Sunway Megalanes, tenpin bowling mixed doubles pair Adania Mohd Redzwan and Muhammad Aiman Syahin Sulaiman also gifted gold to the state contingent at their SUKMA final.
The duo dropped 2,468 pins to emerge champions, beating Penang and Perak competitors.

At UPM Stadium in Serdang, young runner Shayathiri Ratnam enjoyed a memorable debut after clinching silver in the women's 10,000m.
The 16-year-old completed the 25-lap race in 41:30.79s — a new personal best.

Elsewhere, at the National Shooting Range in Subang, the state squad scored two silver and one bronze in their events.
Halina Izreen Hasli Izwa took the first silver in the women’s individual 25m pistol event, after narrowly losing 14-16 to Terengganu’s Nur Anissa Wan Nazri.
She then scored another silver with Lim Kyllie and Soo Sher Qi in the women’s team 25m pistol event, beating Terengganu but bowing to Pahang.
At the same venue, Chin Tze Young, Bong Jun Hong and Aniq Ammar Al-Syahmi Muha took bronze with 1,647 points in the men’s 10m air pistol team event.
