SHAH ALAM, Aug 19 — Selangor diver Muhammad Haris Mohd Rezal today took home silver in the SUKMA men’s 3m springboard after accumulating 387.45 points at Selangor Aquatic here today.
The 21-year-old was just 4.40 points behind gold medallist Yong Rui Jie from the Federal Territories.
Haris said he is proud of the win as he gave Rui Jie, who is a national athlete, a good contest.
“Overall, today I am proud of my dives. There was only one dive that I lacked and it put me at number two.
“My difference with number one was 4.4 points and he’s a national diver, so I’m very happy to get a score so close to a national athlete when I’m only a state athlete.
“Since 2024, I have really improved my performance. At SUKMA 2024 in Sarawak, I didn’t win the 3m springboard event, but now I have surpassed many who defeated me then and got number two, and even almost got number one,” Haris told Media Selangor when met after the competition.
