SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — The state's women’s judoka Nur Sufia Arisha Mohamed Rasidi won the gold medal in the under-44kg category during the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) after defeating Terengganu representative Nur Fasha Zazali at IDCC Shah Alam today.

She delivered an excellent, agile performance in the final, recording one Ippon, one Waza-ari, and two Yuko to overcome her opponent.

The bout lasted two minutes and 58 seconds before Sufia secured victory and was crowned category champion.

The victory saw her contribute another gold medal for Selangor, taking the host contingent’s tally to four gold and three silver medals.

The gold medal capped an outstanding performance by Sufia in the under-44kg category, following a consistent showing throughout the competition to reach the final.

Meanwhile, Selangor taekwondo athlete Nur Aina Qistina Nor Maznizar also delivered a gold medal for the host contingent after defeating a representative from Negeri Sembilan during the Games today.

The 16-year-old took down Marieam Adlydelisha Afea Mohamad Adam in the women’s under-46kg final, which was also held at IDCC Shah Alam.

She delivered a commanding performance throughout the bout, dominating both rounds to secure a 2-0 victory, then further strengthened her lead in the second round, scoring 28 points to Marieam's 11.

Her dominance in both rounds secured Nur Aina the title in the women’s under-46kg category, making her gold-medal win even more remarkable given her age.

Aina's gold also contributed to the Selangor contingent’s medal tally as hosts of this year’s Games.

Sufia and Aina's achievements also boosted the Selangor contingent as they continue their medal hunt at SUKMA 2026.
