SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — Selangor judoka Nur Sufia Arisha Mohamed Rasidi advanced to the women’s under-44kg quarter-finals after defeating Kedah's Nur Damia Shafiya by Waza-ari at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) at IDCC Shah Alam today.
Earlier, she defeated a representative from Sarawak by Ippon to secure her place in the next round.
Sufia's record in the bout comprised one Ippon, one Waza-ari, and two Yuko.
She then maintained her momentum by defeating Damia by Waza-ari to confirm her place in the quarter-finals.
In the quarter-finals, Sufia will face a representative from Perak for a place in the semi-finals.
A victory in the bout will give Selangor an opportunity to progress further in the women’s under-44kg judo event, while continuing the state contingent's pursuit of medals.
