SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — The Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) will strengthen the Rumah Selangorku application system to create an integrated database that monitors the entire process through to the handover of keys.
State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said that applications through the eHartanah app and the Selangor State Property Application System would allow applicants to check their status in about 102 days, subject to the required documents and the availability of units.
“LPHS is developing an alternative mechanism to allow applicants to select up to three nearby projects. If they do not meet the merit requirements for their first choice, their application will automatically be considered for the next option, without the need to submit a new application.
“This approach can reduce the waiting period while increasing the chances of receiving a housing offer,” he said while winding up the debate on the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) motion at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting today.
Regarding the prices of several categories of Rumah Selangorku units exceeding RM250,000, Borhan said the state government is providing incentives, including the absorption of stamp duty and transfer-of-ownership costs.
“The offer is to reduce the burden on buyers, and the state government is also absorbing maintenance fees for the first two years. We will continue to study suitable mechanisms to ensure that the price and ownership costs of Rumah Selangorku remain affordable for the people,” he said.
When tabling RS-2 on Friday (August 7), the Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is targeting the construction of 200,000 affordable Rumah Selangorku units under the Rumah Selangorku Harapan and Idaman policies.
This aim is one of the initiatives under the plan's "Mission Three: A Caring and Liveable State", which focuses on improving the people’s quality of life by strengthening affordability, liveability, and overall well-being.
