SHAH ALAM, Oct 13 — The state government is confident it can achieve its target of providing 200,000 Rumah Selangorku units by 2028 to ensure more people can own homes at affordable prices, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added that 57,000 units have been handed over to homeowners, while the 34,000 remaining units are under construction.
“If we look at it, overall there are already around 174,000 units. If we go by current trends, we can finish them, or at least have them under construction. To finish them, we have to streamline it more, especially those targeted to be done next year.
“Fifty-seven thousand are done and keys were handed over, and 34,000 are being built, The overall total is 174,000 units, and the remaining are in the (process of obtaining) planning permits,” he said when met after the Housing Aspirations Night, held in conjunction with Malaysian States’ Housing Symposium, here last night.

The Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) event, themed “Building Legacies, Creating Futures”, was attended by state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah and state housing agency representatives from all over Malaysia.
Amirudin meanwhile admitted that Rumah Selangorku projects are not without their challenges, especially amid the West Asia conflict that is pushing up prices of basic goods.
He added that the state government, through LPHS, evaluates developers’ ability to ensure planned projects are executed without affecting buyers’ spending.
Under the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) Amirudin tabled in August, the Selangor government will deliver 200,000 affordable housing units through Rumah Selangorku Harapan and Idaman.
