SUBANG, Aug 8 — Platform Selangor (PLATS) entrepreneurs were honoured at the Platform Selangor Awards Night held last night.
Officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, the event recognised the achievements, dedication, and contributions of entrepreneurs.
Held for the third time, the event was the result of a strategic collaboration among the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, and local authorities.
Organised by Yayasan MBI, the event saw several awards presented to celebrate micro-entrepreneurs who demonstrated outstanding performance.
Twenty-three awards were presented across nine categories, covering areas, including innovation, digitalisation, community development, women and youth leadership, and the use of technology in business.
The Selangor Micro-Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Minah Satay founder Norminah Syafrial, who took home a trophy, RM5,000 in cash, and RM15,000 from the Selangor Dana Usahawan Madani.
Also presented during the prestigious evening were the Community Micro-Entrepreneur Award, the Young Micro-Entrepreneur Award, the Technology Revolution Micro-Entrepreneur Award, and the Women Micro-Entrepreneur Award.
Others included the Innovation Micro-Entrepreneur Award, the U-PLATS Digital Outstanding Entrepreneur Award, the U-PLATS Halal Excellence Award, and the PLATS Biaya Outstanding Entrepreneur Award.
In line with the state government's aspiration to empower the people's economy, PLATS is a strategic platform that connects the government, industry, and the entrepreneurial community.
Together, these efforts are building a progressive, inclusive, and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, while expanding growth opportunities, increasing entrepreneurs' incomes, and generating lasting socio-economic benefits for Selangor.
