SUNGAI BULOH, Aug 4 — The state government continues to strengthen education development with the Selangor Nutrition (Nutrisel) initiative and Selangor People’s Tuition Programme (PTRS) to ensure more students gain access to learning and quality meals, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the effort reflects the Selangor government’s continued commitment to produce a generation that isn’t just academically sound, but one that grows up in an environment conducive to physical development.
“That’s why the state government gives focus to the education field. We have the (PTRS) that is the talk of the country. There are 160,000 students getting free tutoring (thanks to) the state government,” he said when officiating the Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor 2026 Cup uniformed bodies marching competition closing ceremony.
The competition was held at the Cyber and Electromagnetic Operations Base (MOSEP) Marching Field in Paya Jaras here yesterday.

According to Amirudin, Nutrisel, which kicked off yesterday, will benefit over 106,000 students at 962 schools statewide for three to six months.
“The Nutrisel programme, which is the free breakfast and lunch programme to ensure these children … not only get to attend school, follow lessons, attend tuition, but also get balanced nutrition for physical development,” he said.
He added that the Selangor government doesn’t just focus on learning, but considers students’ nutritional needs to support their physical development for a more effective learning process.
Amirudin said investment in education is among the state government’s priorities to ensure the younger generation has better opportunities to build a future for and contribute to Selangor.
