KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 — Tourism Selangor is ramping up promotions and events for the last four months of Visit Selangor Year 2026 (VSY2026) to reach its target of drawing nine million visitors to the state.

State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim said one of these events is Selangor Travel Fair, which will be a major platform for the state to promote a range of tourism products and attractive experiences and cement its position as the most popular destination in Malaysia.

“(The Selangor Travel Fair) also reflects our continued commitment to reach our target of nine million tourists for (VSY2026),” he said when launching the travel fair in Central Market here yesterday.

He added that visitors may enjoy various travel packages at discounts of up to 50 per cent throughout the carnival.

He also congratulated Tourism Selangor on successfully organising the Selangor Travel Fair for the agency’s Silver Jubilee.

Ng said the event is the culmination of 25 years of Tourism Selangor’s efforts in driving the state’s travel industry, developing destinations, and forming strategic partnerships to uplift Selangor’s tourism profile locally and internationally.

He added that Selangor has maintained its position as the country’s most popular travel destination since 2021.

“In 2025, Selangor recorded 36.4 million domestic travellers, up 5.5 per cent from 34.5 million visitors the previous year.
