Missing 15-year-old found dead along Kota Tinggi road

KOTA TINGGI, July 17 — A 15-year-old boy who had been reported missing since Monday was found dead at KM8.2 of Jalan Kluang-Kota Tinggi early this morning after the motorcycle he was riding is believed to have crashed.

Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Yusof Othman said police received information from members of the public about an accident involving a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle at about 2.30 am.

He said the deceased was identified as Muhammad Nasrulhaq Kamaruzaman, who had been reported missing after he was believed to have left home alone on a motorcycle at 11 pm on Saturday to visit a friend in Kampung Temenin Baru here.

“The victim suffered serious injuries to his body and legs and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle he was riding was believed to have skidded and crashed,” he said in a statement today.

Yusof said Muhammad Nasrulhaq’s body had been sent to the forensic unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for further investigation, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Earlier, the media reported that Muhammad Nasrulhaq had gone missing after his family was unable to contact him while he was on his way home at about 4 am last Sunday.
