Teen motorcyclist dies after crashing into parked car in Gombak

SHAH ALAM, July 6 — A 14-year-old student died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a parked car on Jalan Kampung Sungai Chinchin in Gombak yesterday.

Gombak police chief ACP Ibrahim Husin said the district police received a report of the incident at 3.23 pm, with initial investigations indicating that the crash occurred at about 2 pm.

He said the victim, a secondary school student from Gombak, was riding alone from his home in Jalan Gombak Batu 8¾ towards Batu 7 Gombak at the time of the accident.

"Upon arriving at the scene, the victim is believed to have suddenly lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a car parked on the road shoulder," he said in a statement today.

Ibrahim said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a hospital medical assistant due to injuries sustained in the collision.

He added that the body was taken to the Selayang Hospital Forensic Department for further action.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by dangerous driving.
