SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Two local authorities in Selangor carried out massive crackdowns on illegal business premises and entertainment outlets within their respective jurisdictions this week.
The Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) and the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) conducted separate enforcement operations targeting businesses operating without valid licenses or violating local authority regulations.
The MDSB, through its Enforcement Department, carried out three intelligence and raid operations on several premises across Sabak Bernam.
It discovered businesses offering unlicensed body massage, which violated the MDSB Beauty Centres and Healthcare Bylaws 2013, and entertainment activities operating without a valid license.
“Enforcement action has been taken in accordance with existing legal provisions.
“Various items and equipment used for the activity were also seized for the purpose of investigation and further action,” MDSB said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, MBSJ conducted integrated operations on entertainment venues in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Puteri, and Seri Kembangan in response to public complaints on the venues believed to be operating without a valid license.
Based on investigation, it found that the premises had failed to meet stipulated licensing conditions, leading enforcement officers to seal and shut down all outlets found operating without a valid license.
“The public who wish to channel complaints regarding any illegal activity or violation of MBSJ regulations can do so via the MBSJ website or contact the Enforcement Department via WhatsApp at 019-2207823,” MBSJ said.
