KUALA SELANGOR, July 16 — Selangor Fruit Valley’s (SFV) 21 chicken coops have produced 750,000 birds each cycle in support of the state’s food security agenda, said Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) group chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi.
“One cycle takes around two months, and that’s what we produce,” he told a press conference after the Fam Trip@Selangor Fruit Valley here on Monday.
He said SFV also hosts cattle and goat farming projects under PKPS to complement the food security agenda under the Selangor Food Warehouse (GMS).
“The state government gave (PKPS) a mandate to prepare the GMS. If anything happens, a disaster or something untoward, Selangoreans would have three months to prepare,” he added, referring to the three-month stockpile at GMS.
Khairil said SFV is an important contributor to the food security agenda, with its role in integrated agriculture development under PKPS’ management.
Fam Trip@Selangor Fruit Valley allowed media practitioners, content creators and influencers to join in an agrotourism experience with various activities, including a tour of SFV, games, and a tasting session of local fruits like durian, guava and nangchem (nangka-chempedak hybrid).
