SHAH ALAM, July 14 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has appointed Ee Wei Ling as the new Zone 9 councilor to serve for the 2026-2027 term.
It said the swearing-in ceremony was launched by the Petaling Jaya Mayor Dato’ Mohamad Zahri Samingon.
“The ceremony witnessed the appointment of Ee Wei Ling as the new councillor for MBSJ Zone 9 which covers Seksyen 17A, Seksyen 19, and SS20, effective from July 1, this year to December 31, 2027.
“The appointment is to succeed former councillor Yip Sean Yi, and expects to further strengthen MBPJ's role to deliver services that are efficient, responsive and based on the people's needs,” MBPJ said in a Facebook post today.
The local authority also congratulated Ee on her appointment and welcomed her as one the council's 23 representatives
“We also express our deepest appreciation to Yip for her service and dedication throughout her three-term tenure as an MBPJ councillor,” it said.
