KLANG, July 13 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today said he looks forward to the opening of the remaining five LRT3 stations to complete the Shah Alam line.
According to a statement from Istana Alam Shah, the five stations are Tropicana, Temasya, Raja Muda, Bukit Raja and Bandar Botanik, which, once opened, will benefit residents and especially the Malay-majority communities in surrounding areas.
The Ruler said it is best for the entire LRT3 route to be completed on schedule as the rail service is an important public transport facility.
“His Royal Highness expressed gratitude (as) this infrastructure project has finally been realised, improving the people’s quality of life, reducing traffic congestion, and providing a more efficient, comfortable and sustainable public transport system.
“His Royal Highness also praised Selangoreans for their patience, and, thank God, this Shah Alam LRT line is ready and can be used. His Royal Highness believes there was a wisdom to the delays,” the statement read.

The Sultan also expressed appreciation for the contribution and sacrifices of the over 130,000 people involved in building the LRT3.
In the 10 years it took to build the new route, an average of 8,000 people worked at each site to ensure the project could be realised.
“His Royal Highness wishes to say congratulations and well done to each worker for their role in transforming a years-long plan into a modern daily transport system.
“His Royal Highness said that even though stations, railways and trains are products tangible to the people, the real success of the project is the manifestation of dedication, professionalism and the ardour of the over 13,000 individuals who dedicated their energy and expertise throughout the (project),” the statement read.
“His Royal Highness also advises the people to make full use of this train service that is the catalyst to wider public transport use, to create a modern, sustainable and quality system,” it said.
Earlier today, the Sultan rode the entire LRT3 line, which was launched on June 29.
The Ruler was accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.
The Royal family was welcomed by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd management for the start of their journey at the Bandar Utama station at 10.40am.
Sultan Sharafuddin rode at the front of the coach to survey the 37.8km, 20-stop route, which features a 2.5km underground passage.
