SHAH ALAM, June 24 — The Batu Tiga state assemblyman’s office is planning to help students and young people attend sporting events during the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Selangor this August.
Batu Tiga assemblyman Danial Al-Rashid Haron said his office has been in contact with the National Sports Council (MSN) to help increase spectator participation, particularly among students.
He said four sports will be contested in the constituency, with preparations for the venues now in their final phase.
“Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is carrying out final preparations at Dewan Tanjung and Dewan Teratai in Section 19.
“We hope all preparations will proceed smoothly and that we can welcome SUKMA successfully,” he told Media Selangor.

Danial said his office is also studying the possibility of providing transportation or logistical assistance to make it easier for students to attend the sporting events and help create a vibrant atmosphere at the competitions.
“The last time SUKMA was held in Selangor was in 1998, so this is a good opportunity for children and students to experience the atmosphere of the country’s biggest multi-sport event firsthand.
“We want to take the initiative to bring them there as supporters and help enliven the competitions,” he said.
He added that schools interested in sending students to competition venues but facing access or transportation challenges can contact the Batu Tiga assemblyman’s office for assistance and further information.
SUKMA 2026 will be held in Selangor from August 15 to 24.
A total of 469 events across 37 sports will be contested in nine districts involving 52 competition venues, while the Para SUKMA will feature 10 sports and 316 events in the Petaling and Klang districts.
