SHAH ALAM, June 21 — The Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) has ordered three recycling premises to cease operations immediately and shut down after they were found operating without a valid business license during an integrated operation around Kampung Seri Sentosa, Ijok, and Jalan Kepong-Kuala Selangor on Thursday (June 18).
It said the operation, which ran from 9am to 2pm, mobilised 27 personnel and officers from various enforcement agencies to ensure that recycling premises complied with licensing requirements, maintained environmental cleanliness, and adhered to building control regulations set by the local authorities and related agencies.
The operation was conducted by MPKS’ Enforcement Department in collaboration with the Health and Environment Department, the Building Control Department, the Corporate Unit, the Selangor division of the Malaysian Companies Commission (SSM), and the Kuala Selangor District and Land Office.
“The inspection found that three premises operating had committed various offences, including conducting business without a valid license.
“Accordingly, all three premises were ordered to cease operations immediately and be closed by the MPKS Enforcement Department,” it said in a Facebook post.
The council issued three compounds and three business cessation notices under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses, and Industries Bylaws (MDKS) 2007 for operating without a licence.

The Health and Environment Department also issued one compound under Section 85(3) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974 (Act 133) and two notices to remove obstructions under Section 46(3) of the same Act due to the operators' failure to maintain clean and orderly premises.
Similarly, the Building Control Department issued two notifications and compound offers under Section 70(1) of Act 133 involving building structures built without proper approval, while SSM Selangor issued three compounds under Section 30(1)(b) of the Companies Act 2016 for failure to comply with corporate legal requirements.
The Kuala Selangor District and Land Office’s personnel were also involved in verifying land lot statuses to ensure the smooth execution of the ground operation.
“Overall, this operation involved inspections of three premises that were found to be in operation.
“A total of three premises were closed, nine compounds and seven notices were issued, while no seizures were recorded throughout the operation.
“MPKS will continue to intensify integrated enforcement operations from time to time to ensure that all business premises comply with the regulations set and guarantee the well-being, safety, and cleanliness of the environment in its administrative area,” MPKS said.
