SHAH ALAM, Aug 11 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) received two accolades at the 2026 Tourism Industry Awards (TIA26) gala, recognising the local authority’s continued efforts to strengthen the urban tourism sector.
The two accolades were the Best City Destination Apps Initiative through the HELO Subang Jaya mobile app and the City Tourism Initiative Award.
“The achievement demonstrates MBSJ’s commitment to strengthening the urban tourism sector through the adoption of digital technology, innovation, and the promotion of destinations in Subang Jaya.”
“May this achievement continue to serve as a catalyst for MBSJ to go further in strengthening Subang Jaya as a leading, innovative, and competitive urban destination,” it said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) received the Public Service Excellence Recognition during the 4th Edition of the Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM) Recognition Awards.
The award was presented at the WMAM Gala Dinner and Awards Night 2026, held in conjunction with the WMAM Annual Conference 2026 at the Genting International Convention Centre (GICC), Resorts World Genting, yesterday.
“The recognition was presented in appreciation of MPKS’s commitment, support and contribution towards strengthening solid waste management and public cleansing in Malaysia,” it said in a Facebook post.
