SHAH ALAM, June 19 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today announced Phase 2 of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package worth RM209.26 million to cushion the impact of global economic uncertainties on the state.
This brings the total allocation under both phases of the stimulus package to RM355.06 million.
Amirudin said the additional allocation comes as the state government steps up measures to strengthen Selangor’s economic position amid global uncertainties, including supply chain disruptions caused by conflicts in West Asia and volatility in the global energy market.
Speaking at a special sitting of the State Legislative Assembly today, he said the state government had taken proactive steps by planning strategic measures to safeguard the well-being of its residents.
“Amid the turmoil of the West Asia conflict, the Selangor government has taken swift action by assessing and anticipating its potential impacts, while formulating strategic measures to address them for the benefit of the people of Selangor,” he said when tabling the package.
The RM209.26 million allocation under Phase 2 will complement ongoing initiatives under Phase 1, which received RM145.8 million in funding.
Phase 2 comprises 15 initiatives, including rental rebates and moratoriums, entrepreneurship funds and scholarships.

According to Amirudin, the implementation of the package was based on data, analysis and the state’s actual economic structure, rather than a short-term approach focused solely on cash assistance.
“The proposed programmes and initiatives are guided by data, analysis and the actual economic structure to drive the state’s prosperity and uplift the people’s well-being.
“This is not merely a populist approach, nor is it only in the form of cash assistance. Instead, it aims to revitalise economic sectors so that the wealth generated can be distributed fairly and equitably across all levels of society.”
He expressed confidence that Selangor would be able to overcome economic challenges through strong cooperation between the government and the people, political stability and a resilient state economy.
Amirudin said the state’s approach is rooted in its responsibility towards the people, especially in navigating periods of crisis.
