SHAH ALAM, June 18 — The second phase of the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package, which is currently being formulated, is expected to strengthen the sustainability of the state’s industrial sector, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

The first phase, valued at RM140 million, commenced on Monday (June 15), while details of the second phase are currently being finalised.

“As a measure to address the impact of disruptions to energy and essential commodity supplies arising from the West Asia conflict earlier this year, the Selangor government introduced the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package worth RM140 million as a buffer to assist the people.

“This initiative focuses on food supply security, inflation control, and direct assistance.

“The implementation of these assistance measures began on June 15 as the first phase, while the second phase is currently being developed to support the continued growth and sustainability of the state’s industrial sector,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Amirudin added that for further enquiries regarding application status or redemption guidelines, the public may refer to official announcements at www.selangor.gov.my/pakejdayatahan.

The following are the key initiatives under the package:

  • Kita Selangor voucher: Assistance worth RM100 per month for six months will be provided to 50,000 selected recipients to help ease daily living expenses.

  • Transport subsidy: Public transport or fuel subsidies worth RM30 per month. Applications and redemptions have been open since June 1 via the NINE app.

  • Jualan Ehsan Rahmah programme: An additional RM5 million allocation has been provided to offer essential goods at affordable prices to help improve the financial well-being of Selangor residents.

  • Free breakfast initiative: Benefiting students in 965 schools across the state. The programme, managed through 12 local authorities, aims to reduce parents’ expenses while ensuring pupils receive proper nutrition before starting their school day.

  • Agricultural sector assistance: A RM25 million allocation has been channelled to support more than 14,000 agri-food operators in coping with rising operating costs and ensuring food supply security.
