SHAH ALAM, June 16 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari today urged Muslims to embrace the spirit of “hijrah” by making more of an effort to improve the self and the community in celebration of Maal Hijrah 1448H.
In a Facebook post today, he said Prophet Muhammad’s journey is a historic moment that carries the important message of always trying to effect positive change.
He added that the spirit of hijrah has been the basis of the state government’s administration since 2008, with various reforms implemented for the people’s benefit.
“In Selangor, from 2008 to now, the state government has made ‘islah’ the administration’s aim and foundation. Various reforms have been, are being, and will be done,” he said.
Amirudin said the principle of sharing the state’s prosperity with the people is among the Selangor government’s main islah economic agenda.
He explained that various programmes and initiatives have been launched to ensure the people’s welfare and well-being.
“May the year 1448H continue to bring prosperity and good to the people and Selangor,” Amirudin said.
