GOMBAK, June 16 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah is expected to revisit projects implemented under the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) 2.0 programme to assess their effectiveness and benefits to local communities once they are completed.
Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the follow-up visits would allow His Highness to personally observe the outcomes of projects announced under the programme and evaluate their impact on residents.
"We hope all projects under GRS can be completed according to schedule. During future GRS visits, the Raja Muda will be able to see for himself the effectiveness of the projects that have been implemented," he said when met during the Gombak leg of the GRS 2.0 programme here today.
Azri said this after accompanying Tengku Amir Shah to a visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Kertas, Batu Caves, one of the adopted projects under GRS 2.0.
Launched in May this year, GRS 2.0 is the second edition of the state-level initiative aimed at strengthening community ties and improving public well-being across Selangor.
Unlike the first edition, which focused on unity and community-building programmes, GRS 2.0 places greater emphasis on “adopted projects” involving the construction, repair and upgrading of public infrastructure identified as priorities in each district.

Azri said the initiative, which is the brainchild of Tengku Amir Shah, reflects the Raja Muda's continued concern and commitment towards improving the well-being of the people of Selangor.
He added that Yayasan MBI has been entrusted by the Selangor government to serve as the coordinating agency responsible for mobilising and managing funding for the programme's adopted projects.
"In Gombak alone, three adopted projects have been selected for the Raja Muda's visit. Across Selangor's nine districts, each district has between two and three projects.
"All projects have been identified and approved before the launch of GRS 2.0’s first leg in Petaling, following discussions involving the offices of the Raja Muda and state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail.”
On the SK Sungai Kertas adopted project that will be managed by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS), Azri said it involves the construction of a pedestrian walkway connecting the school gate to a nearby bus stop and residential area, providing safer and more convenient access for students and residents.
"The walkway is expected to ease movement for pupils travelling to school, particularly those dropped off at the lower section of the area by their parents, while also helping to reduce traffic congestion.”
He said the project is estimated to cost RM450,000 and is expected to be completed by October over a 17-week period.
