SHAH ALAM, June 11 — Police are reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage and interviewing witnesses to find out who molested a woman in Setia Alam on Tuesday.
“The suspect has yet to be identified and our efforts are currently focused on tracing his movements.
“We appeal to anyone with relevant information to contact the investigating officer or their nearest police station,” said Shah Alam police chief Sarudin Samah, according to an NST report.
On Tuesday evening, a woman in her early 20s reported being assaulted in a residential area.
The victim filed a police report at 9.06pm, alleging she was attacked from behind by an unknown man in a red shirt and black trousers at 7.10pm.
According to the report, the suspect hugged the victim, covered her mouth, kissed her, and molested her before fleeing.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty, which carries a penalty of 10 years’ jail, a fine, or whipping.
