SHAH ALAM, May 25 — The Save the Heart 7.0 community health programme, organised by the Kota Kemuning State Constituency Office, emphasises the importance of healthy lifestyles and early screening to improve awareness on cardiac care.
The event, held over the weekend at Poliklinik Shaik, started at 8.30am on Saturday with various segments including health screening and an information session on heart care.
Kota Kemuning assemblyman Preakas Sampunathan said the programme is essential seeing as the people of today work so hard for their families and future, but they neglect their health.
“The truth is, without a healthy body, it is difficult for us to enjoy life to the fullest. Programmes like Save the Heart 7.0 are important to remind the community that healthcare isn’t just for when you’re sick, but should be a continuous practice,” he said in a statement.
He said a healthy lifestyle including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and health screenings could lower the risk of severe diseases.
Preakas added that heart disease is becoming increasingly prevalent among Malaysians and needs serious attention from all quarters.
He explained that the event reflects the Kota Kemuning State Constituency Office’s commitment to empower community well-being with initiatives that directly benefit the people.
He also said the preventive approach via regular health screenings is important to help the community be aware of their health and avoid more serious complications.
Preakas advised the public to join events like Save the Heart 7.0 to make a healthier lifestyle commonplace in the community.
