GOMBAK, May 24 — Several initiatives under the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package announced in April will begin implementation next month, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
The measures are intended to assist groups affected by the rising cost of living brought about by the global crisis.
“Some of the stimulus packages announced in April will commence in June and July. They will help absorb the impact and provide relief to those in need.
“At present, we are working hard to finalise the implementation plans and framework to ensure no one is left behind and that the measures are carried out smoothly and effectively,” he said during the Gombak Parliamentary constituency’s Hari Raya Aidiladha korban handover ceremony yesterday.
Previously, Amirudin said that the state government is actively refining the second phase of the Package in preparation for possible increases in the cost of living and the effects of the global supply crisis in the coming months.
Its special task force committee is currently holding intensive meetings to gather data and examine various proposals.
Last month, the Menteri Besar announced the RM131 million Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package to help people and the state’s industries cope with the effects of the global energy supply crisis stemming from tensions in West Asia.
Initiatives under the package are scheduled to be implemented beginning in June as a first-phase measure to strengthen food supply and control inflation.
Last week, state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said they have begun engagement sessions with affected industry players to formulate more targeted forms of assistance.
He added that Invest Selangor Bhd is also holding a series of discussions with chambers of commerce and trade bodies to identify the best solutions across all industrial sectors.
