RAWANG, May 22 — Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd officially launched Selgate Specialist Hospital (SSH) Rawang today, marking another milestone in its expanding healthcare network across Selangor.
Selgate group chief executive officer Datuk Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth said the hospital reflects the company’s long-term commitment, together with the state government, to improving community access to quality healthcare services.
“Today is not merely about the opening of a hospital. It symbolises Selgate and the Selangor government’s long-term commitment to ensuring the people have access to modern, quality healthcare that is closer to the community,” he said in his speech at the officiating ceremony at SSH Rawang today.
Noor Hisham said Selgate is no longer focused on just one healthcare segment, but is building a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing hospitals, primary care, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, digital health, healthcare protection and community-based services.
According to him, Selgate has evolved significantly since its inception in 2015, when the state government entrusted the company with a bigger role in the healthcare sector.
He added that SSH Rawang was completed ahead of schedule after Selgate combined two development phases during the Covid-19 pandemic to accelerate the delivery of healthcare services to the public.
The hospital began official operations in October 2025 and currently offers more than 20 specialties and subspecialties supported by over 30 specialist doctors.
According to Noor Hisham, SSH Rawang will also introduce cardiac treatment facilities, including a catheterisation laboratory (cath lab), by the end of this year to improve access to heart treatment services in northern Selangor.
“Heart disease remains one of the country’s major health challenges. Access to quality and timely cardiac treatment must continue to be strengthened, especially in northern Selangor.”
He also announced Selgate’s plans for an integrated cardiac services centre in collaboration with UiTM Sungai Buloh, targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
“This collaboration represents the strength of public-private partnerships, combining clinical expertise, academic excellence, research capabilities and healthcare delivery under one integrated ecosystem.”
Noor Hisham said Selgate will continue expanding its hospital network, with facilities in Sepang and Setia Alam also in the pipeline as part of efforts to widen access to specialist healthcare services throughout Selangor.
“We are not merely building hospitals. We are building a sustainable healthcare network that can support the needs of the people for generations to come,” he said.
Among those present at the ceremony were Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, state executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin, and state executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi.
