AMPANG JAYA, May 13 — The Sabak Bernam leg of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) 2.0 tour will start next month with various events centred on greeting the people.
State executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail said the tour, scheduled for June 3 and 4, will be made merrier by the presence of Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.
“We finished with GRS 2.0 in Hulu Langat today. Various (segments) were held, among them, His Highness’ visit to Ampang Look Out Point and stay in Moonkissed by The River yesterday.
“Today, His Highness visited SK Dusun Tua and contributed food to all students for lunch there, before going to ‘bahulu’ SME Classiq and the GRS pet project in Sungai Gabai.
“An engagement session between the state government and residents around Sungai Gabai was also held, as previously, His Highness had visited Sungai Gabai, which was hit by disaster before, and agreed to approve Phase 1 of Sungai Gabai’s restoration (project) valued at around RM1 million.
“Among the issues centred at the engagement session for that area were several residents’ problems related to land ownership claims, and they have actually been resolved by the state government.
“Flood issues were also touched upon, and the state government has taken note of the matter and is (deciding) how to overcome flood issues in identified areas,” he added.

Rizam was met after a visit to Green Factory, premises owned by a Bumiputera company that produces wood products and furniture.
Earlier, Tengku Amir Shah and wife Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz spent around 30 minutes visiting the factory and listening to a briefing on the factory’s operations.
The young Royal couple also witnessed the handover of a RM20,000 contribution from the state government for the company to purchase equipment.
The factory adheres to a zero-waste and circular economy concept in its manufacturing operations to minimise effects to the environment.
In 2018, the company earned the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) — an international accreditation that recognises the use of materials from sustainably managed forests, which also ensures forest supply chains adhere to strict ecological, social and ethical standards.
