SHAH ALAM, May 10 — The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has called on society to appreciate the sacrifices made by mothers, who are regarded as the pillar of the family.
Her Royal Highness said a mother’s sacrifices cannot be measured by material wealth or words, as they tirelessly raise, educate, and pray for their children.
“With immense love and affection, mothers raise their children, educate them patiently, and become an endless source of strength and prayers for the family,” said Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin in a royal message in conjunction with Mother’s Day today, which was shared by the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page.
Her Royal Highness also conveyed Mother’s Day greetings and prayed that mothers would be blessed with good health, peace of mind, and lasting happiness with their beloved families.
Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin further expressed hope that the celebration would serve as an important moment for every child to appreciate the contributions of mothers, who pour boundless love and make endless sacrifices in raising future generations.
Earlier, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari also expressed appreciation to all mothers, describing them as the backbone of the family and the architects of future generations.
He said a mother’s contributions and sacrifices are immense in raising children with love, prayers, and resilience, despite facing various life challenges.
Mother’s Day is celebrated around the world on 10 May each year. This year’s celebration carries the theme 'Seteguh Kasih Ibu' (“As Strong as a Mother’s Love”), highlighting the resilience, love, and invaluable sacrifices of mothers.
