GOMBAK, May 1 — Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari today visited elderly and sick residents around Gombak and presented basic necessities, including wheelchairs.
The outreach programme, held in conjunction with the Labour Day holiday, was used to engage with those in need, particularly individuals facing health issues as well as prospective pilgrims.
“Among those visited were the elderly and those who urgently needed assistance. We provided daily food aid and wheelchairs to ease their affairs,” he told Media Selangor.
He said the outreach approach is important to ensure assistance reaches target groups directly, as well as to better understand the real conditions faced by the community at the grassroots level.
“For prospective pilgrims, we also delivered Muassasah incentives as well as support from the parliamentary office to help with their preparations."
Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua assemblyman, also inspected the site of a recent fire near Sungai Tua to assess the needs of affected residents and provide appropriate assistance.
“I pray that all those affected remain strong in facing this ordeal, and we will help as best as we can."
