SHAH ALAM, April 15 — Gagasan Rumpun Selangor (GRS) 2.0 will centre an “adoption project” to encourage the construction, repair, and maintenance of public infrastructure, said state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail.
“God willing, as announced by Menteri Besar (Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari) in the 2026 budget, the GRS programme this year will be launched with a more unique concept.
“It involves the GRS Adoption Project through the construction, repair or maintenance of public infrastructure projects, which will be identified (at a later date),” he said in a Facebook post on April 11.
Earlier that day, Rizam was granted an audience with Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah to inform His Highness of the GRS 2.0 launch.
GRS was introduced to boost unity and the sense of community among Selangoreans, and looks to do so with carnivals, policies, and the empowerment of rural leaders, among others.
In the first edition launched in February 2024, the tour kicked off in Hulu Selangor and visited all districts, ending with Gombak.
