SHAH ALAM, April 4 — The implementation of flood mitigation projects in several flood-prone areas in Kota Kemuning will be brought to the Selangor State Legislative Assembly this month for further clarification and updates.
Kota Kemuning assemblyman Preakas Sampunathan said this is important to ensure the projects can be completed before the monsoon season, thereby reducing the risk of recurring floods.
“We want to know how far these projects can be completed because we do not want to face the monsoon without preparation.
"I hope the state government can expedite their implementation,” he said during the Kota Kemuning state assembly Aidilfitri celebration last night, attended by more than 2,000 people.
Preakas said among the areas involved include Seri Muda, Bukit Kemuning, Desa Kemuning, Greenville and Alam Indah, which are often affected during heavy rain.
Separately, he said traffic congestion issues in Kota Kemuning will also be raised in the upcoming sitting, along with the need for guidelines related to artificial intelligence (AI) and the sustainability of data centre development in Selangor.
