Selangor WFH policy flexible, focuses on saving energy — MB

SHAH ALAM, March 31 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today asserted that the state’s work-from-home (WFH) policy won’t be comprehensive but flexible, to balance operations with energy-saving measures.

He added that WFH will start with the state administration before it is expanded to other quarters.

“(WFH) won’t be an overall (exercise), but we will … (implement it) according to a certain schedule or flexibility.

“What’s important is we want to reduce the pressure of using petrol and gas, but at the same time maintain work productivity,” he said at the Townhall X Wanita Selangor event at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building here today.

Amirudin added that Selangor’s WFH plan is being prepared, and will be ready in two or three weeks.

He asserted that the WFH policy will balance operational efficiency and employee welfare.

Previously, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the state government would allow more flexible work arrangements, including WFH for civil servants.

He said the approach aims to ensure public service continuity while adjusting work methods with current needs.

Putrajaya will hold talks with state leaders tomorrow to coordinate countermeasures amid economic and safety challenges due to the West Asia conflict.
