SHAH ALAM, March 17 — The state government has allocated RM6 million to implement this year’s sacrificial (korban) contribution programme through corporate social responsibility collaboration involving corporate companies and government-linked companies.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato' Izham Hashim said 800 cattle and 600 goats will be provided, with assurance of high-quality livestock to ensure smooth distribution and optimal benefits for recipients.

“Several improvements have also been introduced, particularly in terms of quality and supply control of livestock, to ensure the programme runs smoothly and benefits all recipients.

“They include a stricter and more thorough supplier selection process to ensure that every animal supplied is healthy, free from any disease, and meets the minimum requirements set,” he told Media Selangor.

Izham added that mitigation measures have also been taken by preparing alternative suppliers as a precaution in the event of any risks affecting the livestock prior to delivery.

He noted that the programme is expected to benefit all 56 state constituencies, with distribution also extended to selected non-governmental organisations and uniformed bodies to ensure more people in need receive assistance.
