SHAH ALAM, March 16 — Registration for the Selangor Kindergarten Assistance Scheme (TUNAS) for the 2026 session is now open, offering parents the opportunity to receive kindergarten fee subsidies for their children.
The scheme, implemented by the Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (YAWAS), provides assistance of RM50 per month paid directly to registered kindergartens, easing the cost of early childhood education.
TUNAS is open to children aged five and six, provided that at least one parent is a registered voter in Selangor and the child was born or resides in the state.
Applicants must also have a household income below RM5,000 and the child must be enrolled in a kindergarten recognised by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Department of National Unity and Integration, or KEMAS.
Required documents include:
The child’s birth certificate
The parent’s MyKad
The parent’s electoral roll confirmation
Latest salary slip of applicant
Kindergarten registration slip or fee receipt
Applications can be submitted online at tunas.yawas.com.my.
The Selangor 2026 Budget allocates RM2 million for the scheme, expected to benefit around 3,700 children aged five and six through the RM50 monthly subsidy.
