SHAH ALAM, March 9 — The Algebra EduCourage Clinic programme helps students improve their understanding of mathematics, particularly algebra, through an interactive, enjoyable learning approach.
It involved dozens of residents from Rumah Kasih Harmoni in Paya Jaras, guided by volunteer instructors from EduCourage. The initiative was led by mathematics influencer Adib Fahim, together with a volunteer team comprising Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia graduates.
Rumah Kasih Harmoni's principal Jamaluddin Wahab said the programme was organised for the first time in collaboration with EduCourage and was carried out well by the volunteers involved.
The team's expertise was utilised to help children at the welfare home understand algebraic concepts more easily.
“The knowledge and expertise of the EduCourage team have been utilised to help the children at this welfare home understand algebraic concepts more easily,” he said.
Jamaluddin added that based on videos shared throughout the programme, the students appeared excited and enjoyed participating in the learning sessions.

The programme was organised by the Malaysian Anti-Drug Association (PEMADAM), the Malaysian Orphans Welfare Organisation, representatives from Agensi Fokuslah, and Heveatex Sdn Bhd.
It also received support from Media Selangor Sdn Bhd (MSSB) as a supporting partner in raising media awareness of the implementation of educational initiatives.
MSSB also fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by donating cash and Hari Raya Aidilfitri biscuits to the residents of Rumah Kasih Harmoni.
Meanwhile, PEMADAM national secretariat for human resources and NGO networking Rashdan Rasyid said volunteer efforts such as this should be expanded and serve as an example for the benefit of the younger generation, particularly in Selangor.
“With programmes like this, Rumah Kasih Harmoni can serve as an example of best practices for the management of orphanage hostels in Selangor,” he said.
Rashdan noted that arts programmes could also be implemented in the future to provide opportunities for children in the state to showcase their talents.
