SHAH ALAM, Feb 26 — The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) has fully digitised its procurement process through the Intelligent Procurement Management System (iPMS) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in all transactions.
Council president Dr Ani Ahmad said that all procurement activities, including quotation submissions and tenders, must now be carried out online through the system, which went live on February 1.
Launched on January 28, iPMS serves as a centralised data management platform, handling all contractor and supplier transactions digitally.
“All contractors, suppliers, and consultants are required to use this system for every transaction. iPMS increases transparency and efficiency in our procurement process,” Dr Ani said during a full council meeting at the MPSepang headquarters.
“By digitising every stage, from registration to appointment, we strengthen good governance while ensuring fairness and accountability in all council transactions.”
The digital system also allows the council to track and monitor every stage of the procurement process, reducing the risk of errors or unfounded allegations.
Since its implementation, 14 contracts have been advertised, covering road resurfacing, drain repairs, playground equipment maintenance, and office furniture supply. Tender submissions close on March 3.
Dr Ani added that iPMS makes it easier for contractors to complete tender documents faster, without visiting the council office in person.
“Information is now more easily auditable, enhancing transparency. Contractor and supplier appointment decisions are accessible online within 24 hours after procurement meetings, compared with three days previously via the council website and physical notice boards,” she said.
