SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) seized five canteen premises at project sites around Mukim Dengkil after they were found to be operating without valid licences.
Its Enforcement Department's Special Unit carried out the action through the Enforcement and Auditing Action Operation on Thursday (August 20).
“The operation was conducted to monitor and enforce regulations against canteen premises at project sites,” MPSepang said in a Facebook post.
The operation was also carried out to ensure that every premise complied with the conditions set by the local authority.
“This also ensures compliance with the conditions set by the local authority, including licensing requirements and compliance with applicable laws,” it said.
The operation found that five canteen premises at several locations around Mukim Dengkil were subject to seizure action.
The locations included Desa Putra, Sungai Merab, the Southville City development area, and several lots.
It added that five compound notices were issued, while five seizure actions were carried out and five inventories were recorded during the operation.
“Enforcement action was taken under Provision 3 of the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing By-Laws (MP Sepang) 2007, which provides for offences involving the operation of businesses without licences,” MPSepang said.
It emphasised that enforcement activities will continue to be intensified from time to time to ensure operators comply with regulations and do not conduct business activities without valid licences.
