SHAH ALAM, Jan 18 — The construction of a two-way bridge in Kampung Bagan Pasir in Tanjong Karang, Kuala Selangor, is expected to be completed this August and will benefit up to 15,000 residents.
State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim said the RM10 million project is being implemented to enhance road safety and facilitate the daily movement of residents.
“This bridge connects Kampung Bagan Pasir with several surrounding traditional villages and serves as an important route for the local community’s daily activities.
“Construction works are progressing according to schedule and in compliance with safety standards, although there has been a slight extension due to the need to relocate water pipes,” he told Media Selangor.
Ng added that repair works on the temporary bridge access ramps have been carried out to ensure smooth traffic flow and user safety throughout the construction period.
“This project is expected to provide long-term benefits to the local community, in addition to stimulating the area’s socio-economic development,” he said.
Meanwhile, the councillor expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude for the commitment, cooperation, and continuous efforts in ensuring that the project proceeds smoothly as planned.
“The highest appreciation and thanks are extended to the Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) for its commitment, cooperation, and continuous efforts in ensuring this project runs smoothly,” Ng said.
