SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — The Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) issued 49 notices of offence during an operation to inspect business licences and monitor hawkers around Selayang on January 8.

The integrated operation was led by MPS’s Enforcement and Security Department deputy director Muhammad Noor Salehuddin Kamis and involved multiple zones and administrative units under the council.

According to a statement posted on MPS’s official Facebook page, the operation was carried out with the participation of the Operations Unit, Towing Unit, Logistics Unit, Rapid Response Unit, the MPS Licensing Department and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

“Inspections and monitoring were conducted on business premises and hawkers to ensure compliance with licence conditions and established regulations,” the statement said.

The operation found several instances of non-compliance, including businesses operating without approval and breaches of licensing conditions.

As a result, MPS issued 49 offence notices and carried out three seizures against traders found to have violated the rules.

The action was taken to ensure that all business premises comply with laws set by the local authority.

MPS also warned that similar operations would be carried out periodically to improve compliance and maintain public order.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to creating an orderly and safe business environment for the local community.
