SUBANG JAYA, Jan 9 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has strengthened its strategic cooperation with KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) to enhance the efficiency of solid waste management and public cleansing services in areas under its administration.

Subang Jaya Mayor Dato' Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim said that solid waste management remains the responsibility of the local authorities and will continue to be carried out by KDEBWM under a new contract effective January 1.

“As everyone is aware, solid waste management and public cleansing by the local authorities have been implemented in collaboration with KDEBWM.

“We have now appointed KDEBWM through a second contract starting from January 1, 2026, for a period of seven years, with several improvements,” he told the media after the MBSJ Councillors’ oath-taking ceremony today.

Amirul added that the improvements include increased frequency and volume of solid waste collection and public cleansing, to ensure more consistent services for residents.

Following the relevant committees' meetings, KDEBWM will be invited to present to all councillors on procedures, guidelines, and operational scheduling for each MBSJ administrative zone.

He added that the move is intended to ensure all councillors fully understand the implementation of solid waste management in their respective zones, thereby strengthening community-level service monitoring.

During the ceremony, 24 MBSJ councillors took their oath of office and signed their letters of appointment for the term from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, comprising 10 new appointees and 14 reappointed councillors.
