SHAH ALAM, Jan 4 — The occupants of four houses in Taman Kinrara Section 5, Puchong, have been asked to temporarily relocate following serious cracks in the properties' walls, to allow for technical inspections and repair works.
Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han said inspections are being conducted together with technical teams from Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK), Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, and the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).
The inspection process faces challenges due to the area being an older housing estate, compounded by additional structures at the rear of the houses that obstruct the original access routes.
“MBSJ is ensuring that more in-depth soil testing can be carried out without compromising the safety of existing structures, to arrive at a long-term solution,” he said in a Facebook post.
Ng added that while awaiting a technical resolution, RM500 in emergency assistance was channelled to each affected unit, along with relocation assistance to temporary accommodation.
Meanwhile, former Subang Jaya City Council councillor Lee Jen Uyin said they received complaints from residents on December 24 before advising occupants of the four affected units to relocate for safety reasons.
“Two units have moved to temporary accommodation owned by MBSJ at Pangsapuri Enggang, Taman Kinrara Section 6, while one unit has yet to relocate, and the remaining unit is vacant,” he said.
All parties are now focusing on identifying the cause of the cracks before repair work can begin.
