State secretary urges Kita Selangor Penyayang projects done by December

SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Projects under the Kita Selangor Penyayang (KSP) public infrastructure initiative must be completed on time by December to ensure the people can enjoy the benefits, said State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.

He pushed for state agencies to expedite works to ensure RM14 million in projects, which were postponed due to the West Asia conflict, start on August 3 so they may be finished by year end.

“We only have around four months to finish all projects compared with around 11 months before this.

“All agencies must shift to fifth gear from (now) so all issues are resolved immediately and projects are completed in the current year,” he said at a KSP engagement session here on Tuesday.

Selangor’s 56 state constituencies have each received RM250,000 to upgrade, repair and maintain public facilities.

Kita Selangor Penyayang, launched in 2022, is a Selangor government initiative that focuses on physical infrastructure projects.

On June 19, while tabling the Selangor Resilience Enhancement Package (SREP), Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM14 million allocation under the initiative.

Meanwhile, Fadzli said each proposed project must prioritise comprehensive, quality and long-term benefits to communities.

“The state government wants funds to be translated into projects that the people truly need. Choose projects that bring big benefits to the community, don’t just finish projects (because there are) allocations,” he added.

Fadzli also reminded elected representatives and state constituency coordinators to identify their constituents’ needs and monitor the progress of KSP projects.
