SHAH ALAM, JAN 01 — The Chinese Muslim food industry in Malaysia continues to record strong growth and increasing public acceptance, as reflected by feedback gathered at the International Malaysian Muslim Food, Culture, and Tourism Festival.
Visitor Khalid Waleed Khalid Issa said the expanding presence of Chinese Muslim cuisine shows it is well-received by the public.
“You can clearly see that the industry is doing very well. Its strong presence indicates that it is widely accepted.
"The existence of dedicated malls, food festivals and numerous restaurants shows high demand and strong market confidence,” he said.

Another festival visitor, Saifeddim Mithkal Hasan Meqbil, described Chinese Muslim cuisine as diverse and suitable for all meals.
“The food can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The flavours stand out, with unique spices influenced by different parts of Asia,” he said.
Saifeddim also noted that some dishes are perceived as healthier due to lighter cooking methods, making them appealing to younger consumers.

From the industry side, vendor Muhammad Faiez Hazeem Mohammad said the festival is an important platform to introduce halal Chinese Muslim cuisine to a broader audience.
“Festivals like this help grow the market and bring communities together. Food acts as a cultural bridge that connects people regardless of background,” he said.
With strong demand, positive reception at public events and growing awareness, the Chinese Muslim food industry continues to strengthen its position within Malaysia’s halal food and beverage sector.
