SUBANG JAYA, Dec 24 — Back-to-school aid from Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd, including uniforms, stationery, and schoolbags, has parents breathing sighs of relief as their burdens of bearing the cost of school supplies for their children lightens.
Housewife Brenda said the RM150 worth of aid will help her son Santhos, 10, own new school supplies without burdening the family.
“This is the first time my son is receiving school aid. Everything is complete, including (a uniform), stationery, and bag. My husband and I only have to come up with cash for books. This really lightened our burden. Half of the cost has been settled,” she told Media Selangor.

Year 5 student Rabiatul Farhana Mohd Hanafiah meanwhile was excited at the prospect of choosing school supplies according to her tastes.
“This lightens my mum’s burden, especially since two of my siblings also go to school. I chose a new watch and bag. It’s exciting to get new things for school,” she said.

Rabiatul and Santhos are among the over 1,000 students who received back-to-school aid under the Mydin Jelajah Generasi Pintar event, held in collaboration with shoe company Abaro.
This touring event targets primary school students in Selangor, and will also be held in Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang and Melaka.
