KUALA LANGAT, Dec 16 — The Selangor Road and Highway Strategic Plan (JALUR) 2035 study, which will be tabled by year end, will be the state government’s main guide to develop a road network in a more systematic and comprehensive manner.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the strategic document will be the main framework for the development of main roads, highways, and basic infrastructure to ensure the people’s mobility and state economic growth needs can be sustainably fulfilled.
“During its tabling, we will assess whether the existing road and highway network is sufficient, and identify dead-end routes and the need to upgrade certain roads.
“This will be comprehensively studied and results of the study can be used until 2035 to help the state government determine the direction and next steps in developing the road network,” he said.
Izham was met after an Asphalt Reuse Reduce (ASRR) road-patching machine demonstration at Pasar Malam Banting here today.
Previously, Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) director Shukri Ishak said in a Facebook post that JALUR 2035 will be a reference to all stakeholders in local, state and federal government.
“Selangor JKR hopes the study results benefit all stakeholders and contribute to Malaysia’s, and especially Selangor’s, economic growth,” Shukri said.
